A dryer that runs but produces no heat is one of the most common appliance repair calls. The drum motor works fine — you hear it running and clothes tumble — but they come out wet after a full cycle. The root cause depends on whether you have an electric or gas dryer.
For electric dryers, the most common causes are a blown thermal fuse (a one-time safety device that opens permanently when the dryer overheats) or a burned-out heating element. For gas dryers, a failed igniter or faulty gas valve coils are the typical culprits. In both cases, a blocked exhaust vent is often the underlying trigger — restricted airflow causes overheating that blows the thermal fuse.
Our technician diagnoses the specific failed component with a multimeter, replaces it, and inspects the vent path for restrictions. Resolving the root cause prevents the same failure from recurring.
