An oven that won't heat is one of the most disruptive appliance failures. The diagnosis depends on whether you have a gas or electric oven.
For electric ovens, the bake element (the coiled resistance element at the oven bottom) is the most common cause of complete heating failure. It often shows visible signs of failure — a crack, blister, or burn spot. A failed temperature sensor can also cause the oven to stop heating by sending an incorrect reading to the control board.
For gas ovens, a failed igniter (the most common repair) or a faulty gas valve prevents the burner from lighting. Our technician diagnoses whether the issue is the heating component, the temperature sensor, or the control board before recommending a repair.
